Ju (Zi) Hua (Chrysanthemum and Orange Blossom) Card
$7.00
When we would visit China to see relatives when I was young, my parents would order "ju hua cha" for my brother and me, since it was a non-caffeinated tea option. As a child, I thought this was orange blossom tea, since "ju" is the sound for the character for orange, "hua" is flower, and "cha" is, of course, tea. I was a full adult when I learned that "ju hua" is actually chrysanthemum, and I had been drinking chrysanthemum tea the whole time! The two "ju"s are also different characters, although homophones. My mom always says that this connection is something only a second generation language speaker would come up with - so this print is an homage to that identity and that connection.
5x7" gold metallic screenprinted foldover card with envelope.
